Cookie policy

This is a translation of the Dutch original. In the event of any difference in interpretation, the Dutch version prevails.

This cookie policy describes which cookies and similar techniques are used on the website of B&O Security Group B.V., and why. B&O Security Group B.V. is established at Kapitein Rondairestraat 8, 5015 BC Tilburg and is registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 98993550.

In short: this website places only Google Ads advertising cookies, and only if you consent to them. If you refuse, nothing is placed except the remembered choice itself, and the website works exactly the same. You can change your choice at any time through “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.

This policy follows article 11.7a of the Dutch Telecommunications Act, which implements article 5(3) of the European ePrivacy Directive, and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). How B&O Security Group B.V. handles personal data you provide yourself, for example through a form or by email, is set out in the privacy policy.

What are cookies and similar techniques?

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your computer, tablet or phone during your visit and reads again on a later visit, allowing the website to recognise you or your device.

Similar techniques include local storage and session storage, tracking pixels, third-party scripts and device fingerprinting. The law treats these the same way as cookies: what matters is whether information is placed on or read from your device, not what the technique is called.

Placing and reading cookies and similar techniques requires your prior consent. That consent requirement does not apply where the sole purpose is carrying out the transmission of communication, or where the cookies are strictly necessary for a service you requested yourself. Marketing and tracking cookies never fall within those exceptions; analytics cookies only where they have no or minimal impact on your privacy.

Which cookies does this website place?

www.bosecuritygroup.com places or reads the following on your device, by category:

  • Functional: your cookie choice. When you accept or refuse, the website keeps that choice in your browser’s local storage (under the name “bsg-consent”) so that you are not asked again on every page. This is strictly necessary to respect your choice and therefore does not itself require consent. It holds only “granted” or “denied” and stays until you clear it in your browser.
  • Analytics cookies: none. How visits are counted is explained below under “Visitor statistics”.
  • Marketing and advertising cookies: only with your consent, from Google Ads. What they do is explained below under “Advertising (Google Ads)”.
  • Social network cookies: none. The website contains no embedded timelines, share buttons or social media pixels, only ordinary links.

Advertising cookies are placed only after you have clicked “Accept”. Until then, and if you refuse, the website loads nothing from Google.

Your language choice

The website is in Dutch by default. If you switch to English at the top or bottom of the page, that choice is carried in the web address (www.bosecuritygroup.com/en). No cookie is placed for it and nothing is stored on your device; if you open the website again later, it starts in Dutch once more.

Visitor statistics

To see which pages are being read and whether the website is working properly, B&O Security Group B.V. uses Vercel Web Analytics, a measurement service provided by Vercel Inc. This measurement works without cookies: nothing is placed on or read from your device.

The following data is recorded for a page view:

  • the time of the visit;
  • the page requested and its page type;
  • the website you came from, only where that is a website other than this one;
  • filtered parameters from the web address;
  • an approximate location at country, region and city level, derived from your IP address;
  • the operating system, the browser and the device type (mobile, tablet or desktop);
  • the version of the measurement script.

To count visits without recognising you, Vercel calculates a unique code (a hash) from the incoming request, including your IP address and browser details. Your IP address is processed only at that moment and is not kept with the statistics. The code is discarded within 24 hours, cannot be traced back to you and is not used to follow you on other websites or in apps.

Why no consent is asked for this

Because nothing is stored on or read from your device for this measurement, the consent requirement in article 11.7a of the Dutch Telecommunications Act does not apply to it. Briefly processing your IP address is, however, processing of personal data within the meaning of the GDPR. B&O Security Group B.V. does so on the basis of a legitimate interest (article 6(1)(f) GDPR): understanding how its own website is used in order to maintain and improve it.

That balancing takes into account that the measurement produces aggregated figures only, that no profiles are built, that visitors are not followed across websites, that the identifying code disappears within 24 hours and that no data is sold to third parties. The impact on your privacy is therefore very limited. You may object to this processing under article 21 GDPR by sending a message to info@bosecuritygroup.com.

Vercel Inc. processes this data solely on the instructions of B&O Security Group B.V. and under a data processing agreement. In so far as data is processed outside the European Economic Area, the safeguards described in the privacy policy apply.

Advertising (Google Ads)

B&O Security Group B.V. advertises through Google Ads, a service of Google Ireland Limited. If you consent, the website loads the Google tag (gtag.js) and Google places cookies on your device. This makes the following possible:

  • measuring which adverts lead someone to request a quote, get in touch or apply (conversion measurement);
  • showing you B&O Security Group B.V. adverts on other websites and in apps of Google and its partners after you have visited this website (remarketing).

Which data

Google receives, among other things, the pages you view on this website, the time, your IP address, information about your browser and device, and whether you successfully submitted a form. What you enter in a form is never passed to Google. No page view is sent for the page on which you confirm a deletion request, and the code in its web address is always left out.

Which cookies

The website itself places, among others, the “_gcl_au” cookie, which is kept for up to 90 days. Google may also place or read cookies on its own domains, such as google.com and doubleclick.net. Exactly which ones and for how long is determined by Google; see policies.google.com/technologies/cookies.

Legal basis and recipients

The legal basis for these cookies and for processing the data collected with them is your consent (article 11.7a of the Dutch Telecommunications Act and article 6(1)(a) GDPR). Google also uses the data for its own purposes, as described in Google’s privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy. Data may be processed outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States; Google is certified for this under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Hosting and log files

The website is hosted with Vercel Inc. As on virtually every website, the server records each request in log files, including the IP address, the time, the page requested and the browser used. This is technically necessary to send the page to your device and to detect and repel malfunctions, misuse and attacks.

Here too, no cookies are used and nothing is stored on your device. This data is not used to follow or profile visitors and is not kept longer than is necessary for administration and security.

Forms on the website

The contact form, the quote request and the application form place no cookies and store nothing on your device. What you fill in is sent only when you click send yourself. Which data that is, what it is used for and how long it is kept are set out in the privacy policy.

If you have consented to advertising cookies, the website tells Google Ads that a form was submitted successfully, without its contents. This never happens for a deletion request.

To prevent misuse of these forms, the server temporarily keeps count in working memory of how many submissions arrive from the same IP address within ten minutes. No cookie is placed for this, no profile is built and nothing is kept for any length of time.

Fonts, maps and embedded media

All fonts, images and other files are loaded from this website itself. Your browser does not need to connect to third-party servers for them, such as those of Google Fonts. The only exception is the Google tag, which is loaded only if you accept advertising cookies.

The website contains no embedded videos, maps, forms or timelines from other parties. Such embeds usually do place cookies; that situation does not arise here. The map of the service area is drawn by B&O Security Group B.V. itself and loads nothing from outside this website.

Links to other websites

The website contains ordinary links to third-party websites, including LinkedIn, Instagram and a route link to Google Maps. As long as you do not click such a link, nothing is loaded from those parties and they place nothing on your device.

If you follow one of these links, you leave the website of B&O Security Group B.V. and that party’s cookie and privacy policies apply. B&O Security Group B.V. has no influence on what those websites place on your device and recommends that you read their policies.

Giving, refusing or withdrawing consent

On your first visit, the website asks at the bottom of the screen whether you accept advertising cookies. Refusing is as easy as accepting, and the website works exactly the same either way.

You can change your choice at any time through “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw your consent, the website sends nothing more to Google from that moment and deletes the advertising cookies stored on this website’s domain. Cookies Google has placed on its own domains can be deleted through your browser settings or at myadcenter.google.com. Withdrawal does not affect processing that already took place with your consent.

You can also always set your browser to refuse cookies or to delete them when you close it; that setting is usually under “Settings” at “Privacy and security”.

The rights you have in respect of your personal data — access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection — are set out in the privacy policy of B&O Security Group B.V. A question or request about this cookie policy can be sent to info@bosecuritygroup.com.

Changes to this cookie policy

B&O Security Group B.V. updates this cookie policy whenever the website changes, for example when new features, measurement methods or suppliers are introduced, or when legislation gives cause to do so.
